Today two staff from Onsite I.T got to meet Bill Gates during one of his last ever presentations as CEO of Microsoft.
For the techies here we were somewhat in awe of this man (currently the richest man in the world).
Love him or hate him , we wonder what IT would be like without Bill Gates , MS DOS and Windows.
The meeting took place at the London Hilton Hotel, we were amongst a selected 650 people to get this opportunity to meet the man who shaped IT systems as we all know them.
Bill turned up in a convoy of Mercedes people carriers, with an entourage of security and assistants.
Just prior to Bill Gates going on stage, Bill showed his Geeky humour by being the lead character in a short film that also starred a number of other well known names.

We found it quite refreshing that Bill has a sense of humour.

Onsite I.T have sucessfully implemented another Thin Client installation for one of our long standing customers.
The customer had previously purchased servers over 4 years ago , and decided to upgrade their infrastructure

A proposal was drawn up showing Costs / Benefits / Any potential risks , and as a result the customer decided Thin Client Technology was right for their business.
The implementation coincided with an office move to new premises , which Onsite I.T also managed.

Onsite I.T has just completed an Exchange Server 2007 rollout for a large educational establishment (Over 3000 users).
The rollout replaced an existing Email appliance device which could not offer the wealth of features Exchange 2007 offered.
The Staff and Pupils at the school have found the new system to be excellent , making their email and document retrieval far simpler when working remotely.
The system was implemented in a Cluster to ensure high availability , and full failover and failback testing was performed prior to going live.
The IT department have also reduced their workload due to the reduced administrative overhead of the new system.
